In 1995 Trinity Industries Started Building its 5161 cubic foot capacity 3 bay covered hopper and today they are a common hopper on North American railroads and very popular with Model Railroaders.
Trinity 5161 Hoppers feature all steel construction with fiberglass trough hatches and it also includes innovative engineering to improve manufacturing efficiency and cost. They are manufactured in North America at the Pennsylvania and Michigan plants and these hoppers can be identified by the 10 panels on the sides, while the 12 panel versions are manufactured in the Mondova Plant in Mexico.
CMO 200134 is an Athearn Genesis HO scale Model which started life as a SIRX (Southern Illinois Railcar Corp ) and then changed ownership , patched and renumbered to CMO ( Chicago, St Paul, Minneapolis and Omaha) , now owned by Union Pacific. This model has been meticulously weathered with oil paints, acrylic paints and powders using many varied techniques.
